Model Answer:

India, my country, is not only very large but also a very beautiful country, no matter where you go. But, it looks even more beautiful with so many stunning rivers and lakes all over the country, and today, I would like to talk about one such lovely lake that I really like.

The lake, I am talking about, is “Wular Lake”. Being situated in the state of Jammu & Kashmir, this lake undoubtedly is one of the most beautiful lakes in India. It also happens to be one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia whose surface area of can vary from 30 to 260 square kilometres, depending on the season.

Being fed by the water of the Jhelum River, the lake becomes so clear sometimes that you could actually see till deep below. The mesmerizing beauty of this lake hasn’t only invited children to play there but also drawn many writers as well as travellers to camp along its gorgeous looking banks. Besides, the water of this lake sometimes is clear that families nearby use the water from there to cook their food. Providing a picture-perfect view of the lake in the late afternoon, if you want to take some photos, the lake looks at its natural best when people in their boats are seen to be collecting aquatic plants for livestock fodder, fertilizer, lotus roots for the market and fishing.

By the way, on each side of the lake, there is a fantastic garden park vantage point, high on a hill, from where one can have a stunning and mesmerizing view of the lake. The lake is embraced by majestic mountain sites as if they are trying to protect the beautiful lake from all kinds of harms.

I like this lake, primarily because it makes me feel so much close to nature unlike anything else. Besides, I find this lake to be not only so huge but also very mysterious in an indescribable way, that draws me so close to it, every time I visit it. Finally, I like it also because it is so calm, yet so beautiful.
