Letter Sample #137 – Write to your internet service provider to complain

GT Writing Task 1 (Letter Writing) Sample # 137

You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.

Your internet connection has been slow and intermittent for the last couple of days, and it affects your work.

Write a letter to your internet service provider to complain about it. In your letter,

  • describe the problem
  • say how it affects your work
  • arrange for a service engineer to visit your home and fix the problem

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Mr or Mrs ………………..,

Model Answer:

Dear Mr Christopher,

I hope you are doing excellent. I understand that you are very serious about your service quality and satisfying your customers, and that is exactly why I never really had to worry about contacting you in the last couple of years, since the time I started using the internet service offered by your company.

However, things are a bit complicated now, as far as your internet service is concerned, since I have been lately getting some problems with it. The internet connection on my end has been slow for the last couple of weeks, which also keeps dropping from time to time. The upload and download time is extremely high and doing video conference is almost impossible with such slow and intermittent connection.

It affects my work very negatively as I work from home due to the Corona pandemic. When I fail to attend a video conference, it puts me in an awkward situation and makes things complex for me. Due to slow download and upload speed, I also can not work efficiently.

Now for the solution to this problem, I contacted the support team, and they suggested some fixes over the phone, but unfortunately, it was of no avail. Please arrange for an expert technician from your office to visit my place and fix the problem immediately. It would save me from this headache and predicament.

Yours sincerely,

Larry Cage
