Model Answer 1:

Dear Gilmore,

What a pleasant surprise it was to receive your letter yesterday in which you have stated your intention to find a job in Singapore. I cherish the time we spent together in Sydney where we completed our graduation together and it would be absolutely fabulous if you come and live in Singapore.

A friend of mine, who happens to work in Singapore Telecommunications Ltd, has recently told me that the company is looking for a mid-level software developer who can code in Ruby on Rails, C# and Java and has good database designing skills. They also expect the prospective candidate to manage a medium-size team of junior programmers.

I am quite convinced that you would be a good fit for this job as you are a talented programmer and have project management skills. As far as I recall, you worked in a telecommunication company for two years and you were responsible to manage multiple projects in Java and C#. No doubt, your exceptional soft skills will make you a deserving candidate for this job.

You can find more information about the vacancy on their corporate website at www.singtel.com. Browse their “Careers” section and apply for the job online. If you have any questions about this vacancy, please feel free to contact me and I will discuss it with the friend who works there.

Best of luck and hope to hear from you soon.

Warm wishes,

Gordon

Model Answer 2:

Dear Mitch,

Hope all is well at your end. After receiving your request to find a job in my country a week ago, I immediately started to search for a suitable job for you. And guess what, it looks like I have finally found what you are just looking for! I am sure you would be interested in a job at Apex Ltd, one of the largest shoe manufacturing companies in Bangladesh, as a Senior Export Manager.

The job offers a great salary package and top class accommodation (free) near the factory site, which means you wouldn’t really need to waste any time in commuting from/to your workplace. This should be an ideal job for you because you would need to deal with delegates, mostly from English-speaking countries, and given the command you have over English, you should have no problem whatsoever in doing your job. Besides, its multi-cultural work environment, having nationals from at least 10 different countries, would suit you just fine.

Please visit the “career” section of their official website, and it will guide you on how to apply for the job. I am hoping that you would take this job and work in my country so that we can meet often.

Take care.

Warm wishes,

Rakib
