Everyone misses a particular place in his/her heart, which is very special and full of memories. I miss Vancouver, where my grandparents live, and where I spent my entire childhood. It is a coastal seaport city in western Canada and one of the largest cities in the country.
I live in Toronto, the capital city of Canada. I moved here with my parents five years ago. Now, I am busy with my higher studies but whenever I recall that place, it fills my heart with a sense melancholy, and surprisingly joy as well. So I love to go there and visit my grandparents at every possible occasion. Though the train is my preferred mode of transportation, the fastest train trip covers the distance in 77 hours and 11 minutes to get from Toronto to Vancouver. So I always travel by air to save time. The travel with an airplane from Toronto to Vancouver takes only 3 to 4 hours.
Vancouver is acknowledged as the first city to rank the top-ten of the world’s most livable cities for the ten consecutive years. In 2011, the city planned to become the greenest city in the world by 2020. It is because of the city’s urban planning design philosophy, it is amazingly beautiful. For me, it is even more stunning as I have spent my entire childhood there.
I feel proud and happy to be a part of that magnificent city. I have great childhood memories of this place with my grandparents, whom I love dearly. They were the inspiration for my happy and pleasant childhood. Though I had to move to Toronto, whenever I feel down and stressed, I close my eyes and I recall my beautiful memories of my grandparent’s house. It makes me calm and gives me the warmth I need to move forward. So this is the most desired place for me to go.
