Model Answer:

Different types of people live around us. While some like to take risks and adventurous in nature, some like to play it safe, and finally, there are others who are in between. For this topic, I’d like to talk to you about someone whom I know, and who is very brave and courageous.

The person I’ve decided to talk about is “Richard”, my cousin, who is around 29 years old and has had a diverse career so far mostly because he loves to change his job for the attraction of sheer adventure of trying something new!

I’ve known him, I suppose, when his parents moved to our town and since the time when we went to our elementary school together. I can recall that he was inquisitive, and attracted to new experiences and experiments even in his childhood.

And when I say that Richard is adventurous, he’s not someone who enjoys physical danger particularly or do something stupid that would send him to a hospital with a broken leg. Rather he’s just prepared to go ahead and do things – even when he doesn’t know what the result is. I can tell you about an event that might give you an idea about his activities and boldness. When we were busy finalising our final term assignment in school, he finished it within three days and took a weeklong solo trip to another country without informing anyone. He just did that because he found it interesting. In another event, he took a great risk to save a child from a house that was on fire. That was a heroic job, in my mind, despite the risk associated with it. After graduating from school, he took a job in Italy, because he thought he needed to learn about their language and culture! An average person, in my opinion, is not going to decide to do such an uncertain thing. Some of his adventuresome activities, which I often envy because I can’t do them even though my subconscious mind would like to do, include camping in secluded places, performing stunts on his cycle with total confidence, and rowing a boat in the river.

I find him an adventurer because he loves to indulge in all sorts of precarious and daring activities if they are interesting. He is someone who is a perfect example of a person who wants to see through life and embrace it fearlessly. I can’t tell you what particularly makes him an adventurous person, but my best guess is that “adventure” is in his blood and nature.
