Model Answer:

As someone, who loves history and learning about the past, I always stop at a museum while travelling to any place. The same happened when I visited Melbourne (Australia) last year, and today I would like to share the experience of that visit with you here.

The name of this museum, I visited, is called the “National Gallery of Victoria”. Popularly known as the biggest and oldest art museum of Australia, it houses the artworks from Europe, Asia and Australia of all historical periods. Situated over two magnificent buildings – NGV International and NGV Australia – it is the most visited art gallery of Australia which presents over 40 major historical exhibitions that are exclusive to Melbourne.

Anyway, after visiting this great art museum, I got the opportunity to enjoy the most a porcelain collection from the UK, dating from 17-18 century, and the collection from Venetian glass from 15-17 century. It was interesting to have a look at the exhibition of furniture and outfit from the early 20th century. Besides, the galleries devoted to Aboriginal art was simply superb. The gift shop there was also very good, with a range of items ranging from the contemporary to Aboriginal art. Moreover, this is the only art museum in the world which has the largest stained glass ceiling in the world!

By the way, this art museum just didn’t show the artworks and exhibitions from the past, but it also arranged the exhibition of temporary fashion collection of some famous Japanese designers which certainly was a new but pleasant experience for me.

Well, I like this art museum mainly because it had all kinds of artworks and pictures that carried detail information with them for the benefits of all kinds of visitors. I liked visiting this museum also because there is something for everybody here, including aboriginal paintings, artefacts, sculptures, antiquities, modern art, glassworks, stained glass and travelling exhibits. Besides, everything was so organized in that museum where staffs were very friendly to help you out in case if you needed anything.
