Describe a person who you think is very interesting.
You should say:
- who this person is
- how you know him/her
- what he/she likes to talk about
and explain why this person is very interesting.
[You will have to talk about the topic for one to two minutes. You have one minute to think about what you are going to say. You can make some notes to help you if you wish.]
Model Answer:
I am not really very good judge of a person. But, then again, I also believe that each and every person is “interesting” in their own unique ways since we all act and behave differently. However, I would still like to take this opportunity to describe a person who, I think, is a bit more interesting than others.
This interesting person, I like to describe, is one of my fellow co-workers. We have been working together at the same company for more than 5 years, so, I guess, it is fair enough to suggest that I know him for long enough to talk about him.
Anyway, when he initially started to work for our company, I didn’t think that he was professional enough to survive our rigid company rules. But, I was proved wrong by him in a big way when I found out that he didn’t just survive the rigid rules of our company, but also got a promotion and moved to a different department. But, when I asked about the secret behind his success, he simply told to me that he was not considering getting a promotion as a success. Instead, he looked at it as an opportunity to do something he really enjoys doing.
This fellow co-worker of mine doesn’t really like to get involved in any kind of trivial or unnecessary talks. Rather, he only likes to talk about the areas where our company is failing, and he does so by providing very authentic data and information in order to support his findings and conclusion. By the way, another thing which he really likes to talk about is how he doesn’t like crony capitalism and the profiteering scheme of many companies in the world.
Anyway, I find this person very interesting because he seems to know a lot about a lot of things, but he never really likes to express his opinions about them. I also feel that he doesn’t like many things, which are happening in this world, but he still tries to find some positives in them without ever complaining against anything.
