Model Answer:

People like to have different kinds of pets. Some like dogs while others prefer cats. Some even like animals which otherwise like to live in forests and close to nature. But, as far as I am concerned, I have always considered “Parrot” as my favourite pet.

I call him “Anthony”. I got it from my maternal uncle as a precious gift about 3 years ago. Some of my friends call it the world’s smartest bird while others like to call it the most beautiful bird in the world. And, then, there are other people who like to call it a “talking bird”.

Anyway, I am not sure what particular species, out of about 400 different types of parrots, “Anthony” belongs to, but he certainly is a very beautiful bird with its green feathers and an exceptionally beautiful yellowish-orange and curved beak. This beautiful bird also has a yellow colour ring around its neck. It is, of course, a male parrot. Anthony is about 6 inches big, including a beautiful tail, and has multiple “personalities”. It can keep talking about an hour and suddenly doesn’t talk about 2 days. My pet seems to be a very clean parrot which eats mostly different kinds of grains, fruits, leaves seeds, pears, nuts, mangoes and boiled rice. It doesn’t like to eat any kinds of meat.

Anyway, parrot – in my case, his name is Anthony, is my favourite pet because it is certainly one of the most beautiful birds I have ever seen. I like it also because it is a very clean bird. The best thing about my pet is that it can actually understand when I am in a good mood, and when I am in a bad mood. He is also my favourite pet because it can actually sing me some of my favourite songs, which I have taught him over the years. It can also mimic the sounds of other people around it. Finally, when this intelligent and smart bird greets me in the morning, it lifts my spirit for the rest of the day unlike anything else.
