You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You would like to invite a foreign friend to visit you on your birthday next month.
Write a letter inviting your friend.
In your letter:
- tell your friend about your birthday
- explain how much the visit would mean to you
- suggest that your friend should stay at your house during the visit
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Dear Mathew,
I hope that you are in good health and spirit. It’s been a long time since you heard from me. So, I thought that it was time for some update from my side.
Anyway, you will be glad to hear that in about a month, I am going to celebrate my 27th birthday. This birthday is going to be a bit more special than the previous ones because I am planning to invite all of my friends from my university, which, of course, includes you too. But, I especially want you to join me on that very special day because it would mean a lot to me, especially, after all those help you provided for me when I was living in your country. In fact, I would never forget how you helped me to overcome language and communication problems after arriving in your country.
So, once again, please join me on my 27th birthday so that I can repay at least some of your favours back to you. By the way, I would also like you to stay at my house on this occasion since it would allow you to learn some of our traditions and culture. I am also planning to take you to a few historically famous places in my country after my birthday.
