Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Model Answer 1:

Dear Sir or Madam,

First of all, I would like to thank you and express my gratitude for offering me a position at your company. It is indeed quite amazing that a great company like yours has found me out through the help of some employment agency, and taken the time to reach out to me and finally offer me a job.

However, as much as I like the offer, the truth is that I will not be able to work for your company because I do not think that I will have much to learn in the position that you are offering me. After all, I am more of a technical person, aiming for the position of a Chief Technical Officer at a large technology company, instead of becoming a Project Manager at the IT (information technology) department of a large and famous banking institution.

Besides, I like my current job a lot because it allows me to work at my own pace, most of the time. Apart from this particular flexibility, I can also have enough time to spend with my family, especially, because I do not really have to spend much time commuting back and forth from my job.

I would like to show my gratitude once again.

Yours faithfully,

Mitch Mayer

Model Answer 2:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to respectfully decline the offer I received from your esteemed company for the position of accounting manager. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for considering me as a potential candidate and extending the offer. However, after careful consideration and evaluation, I have decided to remain in my current position with my current employer.

The primary reason for declining the offer is the deep satisfaction and fulfilment I have found in my current job. The culture, values, and opportunities for growth at my current company align perfectly with my career aspirations and personal goals. The work environment fosters creativity, innovation, and continuous learning, which have contributed significantly to my passion for the work I do.

Please understand that this decision was not taken lightly, and I hold your company in high regard. The offer extended to me was truly enticing, and I genuinely appreciate the confidence you have shown in my abilities. Once again, I would like to express my sincerest appreciation for the offer and the time and effort invested in considering me for the position.

Thank you for your understanding, and I wish you and your team continued success in all your endeavours.

Yours faithfully,

Olivia Shield
