They may resort to theft, burglary, or drug dealing, leading to an increase in crime rates. To deal with this, governments can invest in creating more jobs and improving the living conditions of people living in these areas. This can include better access to education, healthcare, and basic amenities.
Another major cause of crime is substance abuse. Drug addiction and alcoholism often lead to impulsive and violent behaviour. To address this issue, the government can invest in rehabilitation centres and offer counselling services to those struggling with addiction.
