Model Answer:

For some pupils, it is tough to pay attention to classes at school. This essay will first expound on how online social networking websites and a poor diet are the primary causes of this problem, followed by a discussion of how awareness of the dangers of excessive screen time, and a balanced diet are the two most viable solutions.

There are various reasons why many students have difficulty maintaining concentration during class time. The most obvious reason is that students, nowadays, spend an excessive amount of time browsing social network sites. Students usually browse social networking sites in a fast and transient manner resulting in accustoming them to operate over a short time span. Then, in response to tasks with a longer time period- for instance, devoting attention in classes- concentration is in relative deficit. Another compelling reason is poor nutrition. For example, a growing body of research has evidenced that the regular intake of fast food can bring about changes in behaviour, such as hyperactivity. Thus, social network sites and poor nutrition can cause attention deficit disorder, and therefore some pupils cannot pay attention properly during class time.

The best solution to the lack of ability to pay attention in class by students is to educate students about the dangers of browsing social network sites excessively. If they are more aware of the issues associated with over-surfing of social network websites, they might think twice before browsing these sites. In consequence, they will reduce the amount of time devoted to social networks. Apart from that, a child’s brain must be nourished all day long so that they are able to give attention and learn appropriately. To illustrate, they need to have a nutritious breakfast and lunch and the best way to do that is to ensure that their sugar content is low and the protein content is high so that they do not get hyper with the massive sugar load in the body.

To reiterate, some students struggle to pay attention in class because of surfing social networks excessively combined with an unhealthy food intake. However, if students reduce the amount of screen time accompanied by balanced dietary habits, the issue can be ameliorated.
