One notable advantage of living in large apartment blocks in urban areas is the efficient utilization of limited space. As cities grow more crowded, available land becomes increasingly scarce and expensive. Apartment buildings allow for vertical construction, making it possible to accommodate a larger number of residents within a smaller footprint. For instance, in cities like Tokyo and Hong Kong, where space is at a premium, towering apartment complexes provide housing solutions for a substantial population.
One significant disadvantage of large apartment blocks is the lack of privacy and personal space. With numerous units clustered together, residents often find themselves in close proximity to their neighbours, leading to noise disturbances, limited outdoor space, and a reduced sense of privacy.
