Some people think that rest and sleep are the best methods to relax while others think that it can be done by involving in some activities like sports.

It is argued by many that rest and sleep are the best way to relax, while others believe that people can deeply relax with some workout like sports. While engaging in physical activities help one to relax, this essay argues that rest and sleep are far better than doing exercise when it comes to relaxing.
Physical activities like sports are an ideal tool to aid relaxation. To commence with, whether people participate in a group sport like baseball, football, basketball, or a lone sport such as swimming, or jogging, physical actions of any type boost their body’s production of brain chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins are the component that accounts for feeling relaxed. A case in point is a study published in the journal “Cerebral Cortex” in 2019, which reveals that the high level of endorphins brings forth a “feel-good” reaction, soothe pain and help relieve the symptoms of stress and tension. Thus, engaging in physical activities such as sports help many to feel relaxed.
Others, however, claim that there is nothing better than rest and sleep to unwind our body and mind because they are the key to a calmer and much-relaxed state of mind. Sleep plays a critical role in maintaining physical and mental well-being. A very good example here is a specific type of sleep in which rapid eye movement occurs. It helps people to regulate their emotions. Likewise, rest considerably influences our mental, physical, and emotional health. By quieting the brain and relaxing muscles, rest stimulates a sense of calm and peace during times of exhaustion. Rest acts as a reset button for the body and mind. For instance, a growing body of research suggests that relaxation techniques such as mindfulness, yoga, meditation, and guided imagery can reduce stress-related symptoms effectively. Therefore, rest and sleep are the best approaches to relax.
To conclude, although some people believe that having some kind of workout can be a useful way to relieve stress, I find that rest and sleep are the best means of feeling relaxed deeply in the sense that it alleviates stress-related symptoms greatly.
