As we sail through the staggeringly technological epoch, different types of robots are being engineered that can perform as associates and workers to help enormously both at home and workplace. This essay would argue that this is a positive development because these robots provide useful assistance in a house environment and ensure quality and safety to the workplace as well.
Robot companions prove highly advantageous. A companion robot is capable of rendering handy assistance in a socially accepted way. That is to say that a robot friend’s primary objective is to assist humans in a household environment. Take Pepper, the latest robot designed by Aldebaran Robotics, for example of a humanoid robot companion. Pepper is an interactive social robot helping in making choices, communicate with people, and even detect people’s facial expressions. What is more, robot companions are able to help people with particular needs such as autistic children or older people. Thus, it reaps considerable benefits to humans.
Besides, robots bring substantial advantages to the workplace. Safety is the most decisive advantage of utilizing robotics technology. Heavy hardware, machines and tools that run at hot temperatures and sharp objects are likely to harm a human being. By designating hazardous tasks to robots, employers are more likely to take a look at a repair bill than a genuine medical bill or a claim. Workers who work on dangerous jobs will be grateful that robots can eradicate a portion of the hazards. Another obvious benefit is that robots always deliver quality. Since robots are customized for precise, repetitive movement, they are more averse to make errors. Somewhat or another, robots are simultaneously an employee and a quality control framework. Therefore, robots reap various benefits to employees as well as employers.
To conclude, it is clear that robots are beneficial as not only do they provide companionship or assist in house chores but also maintain quality or maximize safety in the workplace. It is thus a positive development.
