Well, I have visited a lot of websites which I have found useful one way or another. While visiting all those websites have offered me some great experience, but none of them probably never matched the experience of visiting www.wikipedia.org.
So, are there so many internet users in this world who don’t know about a website as great as Wikipedia? Well, I would doubt that. Wikipedia is by far the world’s largest open encyclopedia; it is the largest, most comprehensive, and most accessible compilation of knowledge to exist in the history of the human race which is only getting bigger and more comprehensive.
Wikipedia is not paper, and that is certainly a good thing because modern day articles are not strictly limited in size, as they are with the paper version of encyclopedias. But, interestingly, I didn’t know about this website until about a few years ago, when one of my co-workers told me about it, as I needed to find some “unbiased” and authentic information about the “independence” or “liberation war” of my country. And, it was at that time, I figured out what a treasure trove of information, “Wikipedia” really was.
Anyway, this website is so powerful that it contains virtually all kinds of information, from a small pin to fighter jets, and from an unknown village in some parts of Africa to some completely unknown galaxy outside of our solar system. But the best thing about this website is that it doesn’t only contain all kinds of information, but also never forgets to provide the citation for the information.
Well, I find this website very useful, primarily because I never return “empty-handed” after visiting this website. In other words, I always get my information on it. Besides, it offers so many different kinds of information that it actually stimulates (rather “forces”) my mind to take different approaches in drawing any kinds of conclusion about anything that I find confusing or controversial. All in all, it is a great website that everyone should use from time to time in order to refresh their knowledge.
