The office you work in does not have any cafeteria for staff. Write a letter to your manager to request setting up a cafeteria for the staff.

In your letter, you should say,

  • what you heard about the inconvenience from the staff
  • how you feel about it
  • what suggestions you have about setting up a cafeteria

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Model Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Lately, I have been hearing about a particular problem from my colleagues from time to time regarding the need for a cafeteria in our office premises. So, I have decided to write this letter to express the importance of having a cafeteria of our own.

This was not used to be much of an issue even before a month since there was a nice and clean cafeteria right across the street from our office building where we all could go easily and grab some snacks and drinks at a time of our convenience. But, unfortunately, that little eatery moved to a different location due to some development and construction works. Naturally, we have to go quite a distance (in fact, now the closest restaurant to our office is at a 15-minute walking distance) to recharge ourselves with some good foods/snacks which can be tiring and time-consuming, especially when we are on a tight schedule.

Therefore, please take some necessary steps to set up a cafeteria inside our office premises on the little empty space, close to our office inventory store, to make our life a little easier.

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Julian Moore
