Model Answer 1:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I currently work as a Senior Software Developer for the Net Dream Software and I recently joined a part-time evening MBA at the ERA University. I am writing to request a change in my enrollment due to the conflicting work and class schedules. I am hoping that you would register me in the distance MBA program so that I can finish the course.

With regards to the conflicting work-and-class schedule, I was recently assigned a few new projects in my office and I am expected to work till 8.00 pm. This would continue for the next six or seven months. As a result, my office hours conflicts my evening course which starts from 6.30 every other day. Hence, I cannot pursue the evening course anymore.

After I talked to my class teachers, they suggested me to intake the distance MBA program instead. I believe I am capable of finishing the assignments and examinations at my own pace. As far as I am concerned, both programs cost the same. Hence, I am expecting to take the distance program instead. Now I need your permission to change my course type.

I am expecting to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Abraham Taylor

Sample Answer 2:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am taking an evening course on 3D graphics and object designing at your institute ‘The VFX Dream’. I joined the course three weeks ago but cannot continue it due to some unavoidable situations. I am hoping that you would allow me to discontinue my course for the time being and resume it from the next semester.

I work as a website designer in a large firm from 9.00 am to 5.00 pm and the office is almost two hours drive from my home. Due to my recent work pressure, I cannot leave my desk before 7.00 pm and hence find it impossible to continue my course in your institute which starts at 7 O’clock in the evening.

The course I am currently enrolled in is highly important for my career growth and despite my effort to continue it, I am unable to find an alternative. However, I hope to finish it at a later time and therefore need your cooperation.

With regards to my initiative regarding finishing the course, I have already talked to my manager and the work pressure would not last more than a few months. I would, therefore request you to allow me to extend it with the students of next intake, possibly from November.

I hope to receive a positive response from you.

Yours faithfully,

Christopher Graham
