Write a letter to the company. In your letter, you need to explain the following:

  • when and where you hired the car
  • describe how the accident happened
  • what kind of action you took after the accident

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Model Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter in order to report an accident, involving your car, which I recently hired from your company in order to have a holiday trip.

I picked up the Honda 4-door sedan from your Anniston downtown branch on the 5th of February and drove it to the city of Delta, the next day. I was driving the car on a major highway. Then, at some point, I needed to slow down to bypass a small construction work from a safe distance. But, for some mysterious reasons, the driver behind me must have miscalculated the speed of my car – a costly miscalculation since he failed to stop his car in time – before hitting my car and damaging it mildly.

I was lucky that no major damage occurred in that accident as I was able to quickly pull my car over to one side of the road and stopped it. A little later, I also called a highway patrol police to report the incident. I guess I have included pretty much everything in this report, but if you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours faithfully,

Terry Ferguson
