You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You have been staying at a rented accommodation for the last two years. Due to your job, you need to move to a new city next month.
Write a letter to the house owner.
In your letter,
- explain why you need to vacate the house and move to a new city
- mention when you will leave
- say how you want to adjust the rent from advance payment
Write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any addresses.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear Mr Stephen,
I am writing this letter to inform you that it is time for me to say goodbye to you and the nice property where I have been living for the last two great years. But, just like all things must come to an end, I also have to move to a different city next month because of some professional reasons – to be more specific, to join our Kassel office.
It has been quite a privilege for me to use the accommodation provided by you because I just can’t think of a single complaint that I could possibly have about the rented property. I know that this is all happening on rather short notice, but I will have to vacate your house and move to Kassel at the end of this month if I want to keep my job.
Anyway, just to give you a friendly reminder, I had made an advance payment for two months before moving to your house. So, I would highly appreciate it if you deduct the next month’s rent form my advance payment and deposit the rest of the money into my bank account before 28th of this month.
