Model Answer 1:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Two days ago I took my family to have dinner at your restaurant – the Bay Diner, to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. I was excited when we reached your eatery and impressed with the interior but very disappointed to find that the food was not up to the mark and the customer service was below standard. I am hoping that you will refund the amount I paid for a menu we barely enjoyed.

In relation to the specifics of the event, we went to your restaurant on 12th July at 7.30 pm. Despite my booking well in advance, it was allocated to someone else – an example of a mediocre management. We ordered a Thai menu for us. However, the soup was cold and had a bitter taste. Fried rice was served 20 minutes later than expected and was not properly cooked. When I complained about the tasteless food to the steward, he barely paid any attention and suggested me to talk to the manager. We left the restaurant with humiliation and an empty stomach.

This whole thing should not have happened to us and it actually ruined our celebration spirit. I want you to investigate the matter and refund the amount I paid for the food and service. I am attaching a copy of my receipt.

Thank you for giving the matter your attention and I hope to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Daren Cole
