Model Answer 1: [Agreement]

The impact of technology has transformed the way people live, communicate and work and the result is so profound that we even work from home and going to an office is no longer mandatory for many professionals. I believe this freedom has great benefits and the ability to work from anywhere far outweighs its drawbacks.

To begin with, information technology has created a new range of job opportunities and has connected millions of professionals and clients all over the world. This arrangement facilitates both the clients and workers to complete their tasks without having a brick-and-mortar workplace which means both parties gain tremendous freedom and mobility. This mobility offers greater flexibility and better work performance since those creative professionals do not have to abide by the strict rules of an office environment and can work in their pyjamas. For instance, my cousin, who is a software engineer often works from home and has completed many mentionable projects besides working for a large IT firm. This has been possible because of the mobility this sort of work arrangement offers.

On top of that, the facility to work from anywhere reduces traffic congestion to a great extent. Bad traffic kills many manhours every day in cities and that has a detrimental effect on the economic growth of a country. Information technology has enabled people to work outside their traditional workplace and this trend has facilitated people to avoid traffic jams and work on a schedule suitable for them.

To conclude, we live in a modern world which has redefined the way we work and complete our tasks, thanks to the widespread use of information technology. It not only saves time but also reduces traffic jams and this mobility increases the overall performance of the professionals who use technology to do their tasks.

Model Answer 2: [Disagreement]

The ability to work outside the traditional work environment with the help of information technology is seen as a blessing by many and yet the trend has failed to create a profound impact due to the disadvantages this work arrangement has. I wholeheartedly believe that we are not yet ready to make it mainstream due to its several drawbacks despite some benefits.

To begin with, this sort of work arrangement, without a doubt, allows people to work from anywhere without being forced to work from 9 to 5 in an office which, according to some, not only saves time but also reduces traffic on the roads. However, large companies still prefer their employees to work in a traditional office environment and due to this, talented individuals in most professions still work in an office rather than working from the comfort of their homes. When an employee works from home, he can not collaborate with the team directly and the management has little control over the ongoing projects. Though the method was meant to accelerate the workflow and create an impact on the way large projects are completed and delivered, the reality is different when most of the employees who work remotely fail to complete the tasks in time due to too much flexibility and distractions at home or outside of the office.

Moreover, big companies work on projects that they do not want to reveal to their competitors and that is why require the employees to work from the designated workstations and use a predefined set of tools and software. This single aspect makes it harder for them to recruit employees who would prefer to work from anywhere. Despite the alluring attractions of remote work or mobility at work, the orthodox working style is still the way of earning our living and a much more sustainable arrangement for both employers and workers.

In conclusion, the facility and arrangement to work outside our workplace should be added to a “regular working environment and schedule” to increase the overall performance of the employees but not a norm to do our tasks.

Model Answer 3: [Agreement]

In today’s digital era, information technology has revolutionised the way people work, allowing many individuals to perform their tasks outside the traditional workplace. This essay argues that the benefits of this mobility outweigh the disadvantages.

One disadvantage of working outside the workplace is the potential for decreased collaboration and communication among team members. Physical separation can hinder face-to-face interactions, leading to miscommunication or delays in decision-making. However, this challenge can be addressed through the use of digital collaboration tools such as video conferencing and instant messaging.

On the contrary, a significant advantage of remote work is the increased flexibility it provides. Employees have the freedom to structure their work hours according to their personal preferences and commitments. This flexibility promotes work-life balance, allowing individuals to better manage their personal and professional responsibilities. For instance, a parent can be present for their child’s important events while still fulfilling work obligations. Moreover, this flexibility often leads to higher job satisfaction and employee retention.

Another advantage is the potential for increased productivity. Working in a familiar and comfortable environment, free from the distractions and stressors of the traditional workplace, can enhance concentration and focus. Research has shown that individuals working remotely often report higher levels of productivity and efficiency. Additionally, advancements in technology have made remote collaboration seamless, enabling employees to collaborate effectively and complete tasks in a timely manner.

In conclusion, the flexibility and increased productivity afforded by remote work allow individuals to achieve a better work-life balance and enhance their overall job satisfaction. As technology continues to advance, embracing the opportunities presented by remote work can lead to positive outcomes for both individuals and organizations.
