  • tell them what you would like them to do about the situation

Write at least 150 words.

You do NOT need to write any addresses.

Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Sir or Madam,

Model Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I know that you were not expecting such a letter from one of your customers, but I am left with no other choice but to write this letter to you. Last Monday, I bought a Casio scientific calculator (Model -fx-570ES PLUS) for one of my college-going nephews from your e-commerce shop, but, unfortunately, I can’t really say that I am satisfied after using it for the first couple of days.

Anyway, I am not too sure if the calculator was properly checked before shipping it to me, but some of the number buttons are not functioning properly. Besides, sometimes, the letters and numbers on its screen keep getting fading away because of low light and visibility issues. Frankly speaking, I didn’t expect such problems with a product from a trusted e-commerce shop as yours. On top of that, I even paid a very handsome price to purchase this product which included a hefty delivery cost as well.

So, based on the problems with the product, I would really appreciate it if you send me another calculator of the same model without charging me anything extra at your earliest convenience. If I do not hear from you in the next seven days, I will lodge a complaint to the Consumer Rights Association.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Yours faithfully,

Le Thi Lam
