Model Answer 1:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing in response to your advertisement in the Daily Mail, published on 2nd August, to apply as a volunteer at your hospital. I have worked as an enlistee community member for about a year and now pursuing my medical degree. I am hoping that you would look at my attached resume and consider my candidacy.

I am originally from Japan and have arrived in London 5 years ago. Now I am doing my post graduation in medical science and I am enthusiastic about joining the hospital since it will provide me with an excellent opportunity to serve people in need. Besides, it will enable me to gain some relevant experiences.

Base on my education, interests and background, I would like to work in the senior citizen’s department for free. I will also hold some outdoor or indoor activities for them. They may frequently have emotional issues when they are in a hospital for a long and I want to help them by providing medical aid and psychological support.

I am available from 5.00 pm to 9.00 pm on Friday and Monday and the whole Sunday. Should you have any further queries regarding my background and experience, please do not hesitate to contact me.

I am looking forward to meeting with you to discuss it further.

Yours faithfully,

Haru Reo
